In 1988, Children's Theatre of Annapolis (CTA) established the Miriam Wolfe Memorial Scholarship to honor the life of a talented young woman. Miriam performed with CTA through her school years and after graduating from Severna Park High School studied music and theater at Syracuse University. In a terrorist bombing of Pan Am flight 103 over Scotland, this beautiful young woman was tragically killed. In 1990, the first Miriam Wolfe Memorial Scholarship was awarded and has become an annual event for graduating seniors who have been involved with CTA. This scholarship is funded by concession sales during CTA productions.
Instructions for Application
1. Applicants must:
a. be a high school senior
b. have a grade point average of 2.5 or better on a scale of 4.0 (proof of GPA must be accompanied with a signature from a high school counselor or a home school administrator)
c. plan to pursue an interest in performing arts (artistic or technical) in college
d. be an active member of Children's Theatre of Annapolis. (If you auditioned for our recent fall show, you have a current
paid membership and need only to complete the application. If you are not a current member,
you may pay the $10 membership fee and enclose it with your application.)
2. Applicants must complete this application, according to directions, including an essay. Use additional sheets if necessary. Please do not attach resumes. The essay is to be no more than 200 words.
3. Attach to the completed application one letter of recommendation from an individual associated with the performing arts. (This person must not be a relative.)
4. Send the completed application, postmarked no later than May 1, 2008 to:
