This workshop is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable experience while elevating their confidence and audition techniques. Students will be divided into smaller groups based on age and will rotate through vocals\, dance\, and acting. By being in smaller groups\, they’ll receive more individualized attention and feedback. \n\nGet your audition materials ready\nAttain effective and confident audition techniques\nGet successful acting skills and mindset\nLearn how to sing\, interpret\, and prepare your song selection.\nPrepare for the dance component of an audition by learning a dance combination with feedback.\nObtain one-on-one + group guidance from local theatre professionals.\n\n  \nNOTE: \n\nStudents must have 16-32 bars of two song selections prepared. An Ogre’s Adventures is a one-of-a-kind\, comical story in which curses are reversed\, monsters get the girls\, and princesses are beautiful in all shapes and sizes. \n  \nOnce upon a time\, in a swamp far\, far away\, there lived an ogre named Simon whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters. They were all banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Nearquad. Determined to save their homes & get them to leave the ogre cuts a deal with the obsessive ruler and sets out to rescue Princess Fergie to be Nearquad’s bride. But…the Princess has a deep\, dark secret. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre\, Shrek\, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale\, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. \n  \nOnce upon a time\, in a far away swamp\, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day\, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad\, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad\, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona\, his swamp will be righted. Well… all of the toys except for Dot\, a terrified stuffed cow. Dot’s desperate to hold onto her home and her best friend\, Aiden. Can Dot conquer her fear of the unknown with some help from the Flair Bears\, Mighty Mutant Power Turtles\, Beanie Elders\, and the all-knowing Mystical 8-ball?\n\n************************\n\nThrough theatre production workshops students gain experience and knowledge in acting techniques\, improvisation\, characterization\, movement\, props\, scenery\, and much more. These workshops conclude with a final performance on our main stage. In production workshops\, teamwork is a major focus and all participants are guaranteed a role.
