SUMMARY:'West Side Story'
DESCRIPTION:Their love will change everything! Young lovers are caught between prejudice and warring street gangs in one of the most important and powerful musicals of all time. \n  \nFrom the first notes to the final breath\, West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. Arthur Laurents’ book remains as powerful\, poignant and timely as ever. The score by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim are widely regarded as among the best ever written. The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre’s finest accomplishments. \n  \nShakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to 1950’s New York City as two young\, idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs\, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate\, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative\, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time. \n  \n\nFriday\, November 7\, 2025 @ 7:00 p.m.\nSaturday\, November 8\, 2025 @ 11:00 a.m.\nSaturday\, November 8\, 2025 @ 4:00 p.m.\nSunday\, November 9\, 2025 @ 2:00 p.m.\n\nCLCIK HERE to purchase performance tickets.\n  \nRecommended for audiences ages 12+. Parental guidance is suggested. (mature themes\, violence\, language\, themes of social injustice) \nApproximate Run Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes with a 15-minute intermission \n—————————————————– \nSPECIAL EVENT: Doc’s Soda Shop (preshow event): 6-7 p.m.; Friday\, November 7\, 2025 \nCLICK HERE to purchase preshow event tickets.\n—————————————————– \nPrograms Cost $2 Each at Performances\nChildren’s Theatre of Annapolis will be offering programs for purchase rather than as a complimentary item at performances. All audience members will receive a one-sheet with the cast list and production credits\, along with a QR code to view the full playbill online. \n  \nHow Do I Buy a Program?\nThe cost of programs will be $2 and can be reserved ahead of time online while purchasing your tickets. Simply go to the Box Office when you arrive to pick up your pre-purchased printed program. \nWhy Are We Doing This?\nThis helps CTA to lower our environmental impact and to save expenses at a time of great financial vulnerability. Producing fewer programs lowers our footprint on the planet plus defrays some of the expenses of putting on quality theatre events while still providing value to our members\, providing an important keepsake for theatre-goers\, and making sure all content would be available for free online.

SUMMARY:Musical Theatre Production Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Dreamwork’s SHREK THE MUSICAL KIDS\nBeauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical KIDS\, based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It’s a “big bright beautiful world” as everyone’s favorite ogre\, Shrek\, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale\, Shrek KIDS is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. \n  \nOnce upon a time\, in a far away swamp\, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day\, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad\, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad\, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona\, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad\, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way. \n  \n* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * \nThrough theatre production workshops students gain experience and knowledge in acting techniques\, improvisation\, characterization\, movement\, props\, scenery\, and much more.
