DESCRIPTION:Production Summer Camp: Legally Blonde The Musical JR. \nSYNOPSIS: Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture\, Legally Blonde The Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show’s instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor\, wit and sass — leaving audiences seeing pink! \nLegally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes\, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle’s boyfriend\, Warner\, dumps her and heads to Harvard\, claiming she’s not “serious” enough\, Elle takes matters into her own hands\, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate\, Emmett\, and spunky hairdresser\, Paulette\, along the way\, Elle finds that books and looks aren’t mutually exclusive.  As Elle begins outsmarting her peers\, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all. \n************************************* \nThis three-week production summer camp focuses on the main elements of putting a production quickly. During our time together students will be put through placement auditions\, casting\, rehearsing\, character development\, working on sets\, and more. Troy\, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of love\, friends and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities. It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks\, Brainiacs\, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock\, Troy\, discovers that the brainy Gabriella\, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip\, has just enrolled at East High. The couple cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo\,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well. \n************************************* \nThis three-week production summer camp focuses on the main elements of putting a production quickly. During our time together students will be put through placement auditions\, casting\, rehearsing\, character development\, working on sets\, and more. In between rehearsals\, campers will participate in team games and exercises that will help fine-tune their theatre skills including improvisation\, music\, and dance.
