What’s On Stage
Footloose: Youth Edition
When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts. To the rockin’ rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score, augmented with dynamic new songs, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people while guiding them with a warm heart and open mind.
Mentalist Brian Curry, “The Good Liar”
Brian Curry has a secret. He’s a mind reader, a human behavior expert, and a LIAR. After reading your mind, he pulls back the curtain to show you some of the techniques used to be a good liar. Never has being lied to been so much fun! This performance is part of CTA’s annual fundraiser, For the Love of CTA, a 21+ event.
Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical
Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs and an unforgettable star turn for a young actress, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp.
Peter and the Starcatcher
The Tony-winning Peter and the Starcatcher upends the century-old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up (a.k.a. Peter Pan). From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair… and the bonds of friendship, duty and love.
Once Upon a Mattress
Many moons ago in a far-off place, the queen decreed no couples could wed until her son found a bride. No princesses could pass the impossible tests given to them—until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, Once Upon a Mattress—rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea—offers up side-splitting shenanigans.
