CTA is looking for 54 kids ages 10 to 18 years old to participate in America's Mock Election from noon to 2 p.m. October 27, 2018, in the Annapolis State House delegate chambers. CTA will cast 1 kid for each of the 50 states, plus 4 additional kids to sing the opening and closing songs.
Americas Mock Election along with their partners University of Virginias Youth Leadership Initiative and Discovery Education will be conducting the Mid Term Student mock election. The event will be produced for a TV program that will be distributed to Discovery Education, which reaches 4.5 million educators and more than 50 million students in 50 countries
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 18
10 to 18, as of audition dates
HOW TO AUDITION:
Select a state and bring 5 facts about that state to enthusiastically present to the adjudicators.
Anyone who would like to be considered for one of the singing positions should come to auditions prepared to sing 32 bars of a Patriotic song without accompaniment.
All those cast will need to create their own costume in the spirit of the state they are representing, to wear to the event.
States will be assigned by CTA. All participants will need to attend a meeting with the event coordinator on Sunday, October 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Singers will need to attend several rehearsals with the Music Director prior to the event — dates TBD
A parent or guardian will need to attend the event with their participant and act as the audience during the taping.
Busses to the event will be provided from CTA, 1661 Bay Head Road, at 10 a.m. on the day of the event. They will depart from downtown Annapolis at 2:30 p.m.
Guests will include the Speaker of the House Mike Bush and Mayor Gavin Buckley among others. Learn more about the event at www.americasmockelection.org and click on the yellow Watch buttons
