Now Hiring: Box Office Coordinator/Administrative Assistant (Part-Time)

Children’s Theatre of Annapolis is now hiring for a part-time Box Office Coordinator/Administrative Assistant position! The Box Office Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the Box Office and administrative duties assigned by the Executive Director, Theatre Operations Manager, and Board of Directors to ensure the overall success of CTA.

 

Position Status: Part-time, 20 hours/week. 

 

Location: Annapolis, Md. Some remote work acceptable. 

 

Salary: $12/hour

Children’s Theatre of Annapolis (CTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1959 dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of the love of theatre in children age 5 to 18 through participation in all aspects of the theatrical experience, including performance, workshops, technical elements, community involvement, and apprenticeships. CTA serves both the child and the community.

 

Position Summary

The Box Office Coordinator/Administrative is a dual role position. As Box Office Coordinator, you will be responsible for the management of the theatre's ticketing system for three mainstage productions, as well as special events throughout the year. For this position, attendance is mandatory for all of CTA's performances (Click here to see the 2019-2020 production schedule), which occur on the weekends. As administrative assistant, you will be responsible for performing administrative tasks, such as filing, generating reports, phone calls, document management, as assigned by the executive director. 

 

Essential Responsibilities & Functions

  • Performing administrative responsibilities as assigned and all other essential duties.

  • Handling office tasks, such as filing, generating reports, setting up for meetings, and reordering supplies.

  • Provide optimal level of customer service online, via the phone, and in person.

  • Coordinate/Oversee training & schedule coordination of Box Office volunteers.

  • Communicate matters to staff that impact Sales, Box Office, or customer relations.

  • Operates the Box Office window for performances, including distributing tickets, collecting certificates, making sales and rescheduling, answering questions and resolving situations.

  • Researches problems or issues dealing with ticket reservations and group packages. Handles all sales issues and solves them for each performance.

  • Facilitates ticket sales by maintaining and accurately preparing for the sale of tickets online & in person.

  • Managing subscriptions to Theatre performances, selling individual tickets

  • Cash handling and processing payments accurately

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills

 

Required Experience and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years of customer service experience

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, including Excel, GSuite, and Dropbox

  • Excellent verbal and written professional communication skills, particularly in dealing with the public

  • Database software experience; working knowledge of a computerized ticketing system preferred.

  • Flexible availability based on business needs.

 

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Experience with social media and email marketing (Robly) and Slack

  • Previous box office experience and/or related applicable experience in the theatre, tourism or attraction industry

  • 2 years of sales or sale management
