January 2020 Letter from the President
It’s a brand-spanking-new year, and everyone at Children’s Theatre of Annapolis couldn’t be more excited for what’s in store for 2020. We have a lot of plans on the horizon, such as two more mainstage shows for this season, “The Hobbit” and “Frozen Jr.,” plus our second season of production summer camps, following the incredible success of 2019’s “High School Musical Jr.” summer camp. Of course, we’re already planning an exciting slate of shows for the 2020-2021 season — but we’re not quite ready to announce! Stay tuned!
One announcement that I can share is news about CTA’s annual fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2020. Sorry, kids, this one is for the adults!
After five amazing years of hosting Comedy Night, the gang here at CTA has decided to try out something new. This year, we’re going to the Big Easy and hosting a Mardi Gras bash, complete with musical entertainment by Annapolis’ amazing Naptown Brass Band and a special performance by "The Good Liar," Mentalist Brian Curry. There will be food, there will be drinks, there will be dancing and, of course, there will be mystery boxes for sale (because we know how much everyone loves a good mystery box!)
I’m so excited about this year’s fundraiser, so I hope you’ll join me and the rest of the Board of Directors for a fun night out. Tickets will go on sale soon.
While you’re waiting, though, why not pick up your tickets for “The Hobbit?” Like I said, 2020 is sure to be a great year for CTA — and “The Hobbit,” the first mainstage production of the year, is just the start.
