Summer camp programs at CTA give each participant the opportunity to learn the basics of theatre, expand their imagination, develop voice, dance and performance techniques, and much more. All training, workshops and camps are aimed to specific age and skill group.
Note: CTA is committed to making theatre education available to all, regardless of income status. If tuition poses a financial hardship, scholarships and payment plans are available. COVID SAFETY PROTOCOL
COVID Safety Protocol:
MASKS ARE OPTIONAL! If you choose for your student to wear a face mask, you must supply one.
Only students pre-registered for the camp will be admitted to CTA.
Parents must check students in and out with a teaching artist/staff member at the front door.
Doors will remain locked. Guests must call the office (410-757-2281) or ring the doorbell.
WASH THOSE HANDS! CTA has hand sanitizer and hand washing areas with soap and water available.
COVID-19 Assumption of Risk, Release, and Waiver of Liability Agreement - All parents/guardians must sign & return along with the usual release/waiver documentation.
CTA has replaced water fountains with water bottle refilling stations for a more sanitary and green option for students, guest, and staff.
During the camp period (and in the few weeks after), should your student/s or someone in your household test positive for COVID-19 you must notify CTA (firstname.lastname@example.org) immediately. We will then notify all families in that camp session, teaching artists, CTA's Board of Directors and staff that someone involved (names will not be released) has tested positive and recommend that everyone take the necessary actions (example: consult your family physician/doctor, be tested, go in to quarantine for the time period required.) We will then evaluate going into an online session for the time period mandated for quarantine.
Should a new state or county order change any of these requirements or prohibit us from being in-person, we will adjust our schedule according to the time period mandated.

THREE-WEEK PRODUCTION SUMMER CAMPS
These three-week production summer camps focus on the main elements of putting a production together quickly. During our time together students will be put through placement auditions, casting, rehearsing, character development, and more. In between rehearsals, campers will participate in team games and exercises that will help fine-tune their theatre skills including improvisation, music, and dance. This all leads up to two public performances on our main stage.
Placement Auditions: Everyone who registers in this camp is guaranteed a role in the show. A placement audition will be held to figure out the best fit for everyone in the show based upon the Artistic Team's decisions. Placement decisions will be based upon vocal, acting, and dance skills displayed during the process.
Lunch & Snacks: Students must bring a healthy lunch each day and two snacks each day. Bring a water bottle with your child's name on it.
Appearance: Students are required to wear black pants or shorts, a black top (t-shirt, leotard, or tank top), and black dance shoes or sneakers secured with laces or velcro. No open-toe shoes, flip-flops, sandals, or crocs. Clothing must be appropriate for dancing/movement. Hair must be pulled back and away from the face.

Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney's Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical comedy featuring the beloved characters and hit songs from the films!
It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. PRODUCTION: Footloose the Musical: Youth Edition
When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend's rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren's reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

The Fine Print
Registration is required for all workshops. An Annual Registration Fee must be paid annually for students to participate in theatre arts education sessions. The Annual Registration Fee is $20 for one or more students per family and is valid from July 1 until June 30 annually.
Students are required wear comfortable clothes and sneakers or closed toe shoes (no Crocs, sandals, flip-flops or skirts without pants/leggings worn under the skirt.) Students are not allowed to bring cell phones, toys, games or other electronic devices. A telephone is available for emergency use.

Minimum of 3 weeks prior to camp: Full refund minus annual registration fee.
2 weeks prior to camp: Refund minus $95 ($75 administrative fee + $20 annual registration fee.)
First day of camp or later: No refund.
Check In/Out Policy: Please know that the purpose of all this is for your student’s safety and well-being. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping our program run smoothly!
Students, including teens, must be checked in and out by a responsible adult. Please sign your student into their class and say hi to the teacher or supervising adult. This will help us to know who you are!
If you will be more than 5 minutes late picking up your student, please call the Instructor or our office at 410-757-2281 to let us know.
Please notify the teacher if another adult has your permission to pick up your student that day. Parents must understand that once their student is signed out, they are no longer the responsibility of Children’s Theatre of Annapolis.
