Summer camp programs at CTA give each participant the opportunity to learn the basics of theatre, expand their imagination, develop voice, dance and performance techniques, and much more. All training, workshops and camps are aimed to specific age and skill groups.
CTA plans to have live (in-person) summer camps. This will, of course, depend upon any State & Anne Arundel County COVID-19 restrictions.
Note: CTA is committed to making theatre education available to all, regardless of income status. If tuition poses a financial hardship, scholarships and payment plans are available. COVID SAFETY PROTOCOL
COVID Safety Protocol:
Only students pre-registered for the camp will be admitted to CTA.
Parents must check students in and out with a teaching artist/staff member at the front door.
The front door will remained locked. Guests must call the office or ring the door bell.
All staff, teaching artists, students, and guests must wear a face mask (covering the nose and mouth) at all times unless eating/drinking.
Upon entrance all staff, teaching artists, students, and guests must have a temperature scan (no one will be permitted entrance with a temperature of 100.4 or more) and must sanitize their hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer.
Maintain social distance at all times. Students will be assigned specific locations to work in during camps.
No drinking from the water fountain. Staff, teaching artists, and students may use the water fountain to re/fill their water bottles only
There will be a COVID-19 Assumption of Risk, Release, and Waiver of Liability Agreement that all parents/guardians must sign & return along with the usual release/waiver documentation.
During the camp period (and in the few weeks after), should your student/s or someone in your household test positive for COVID-19 you must notify CTA (email@example.com) immediately. We will then notify all families in that camp session, teaching artists, CTA's Board of Directors and staff that someone involved (names will not be released) has tested positive and recommend that everyone take the necessary actions (example: consult your family physician/doctor, be tested, go in to quarantine for the time period required.) We will then evaluate going into an online session for the time period mandated for quarantine.
Limit the number of audience members allowed to attend each performance with social distance between groups.
Should a new state or county order change any of these requirements or prohibit us from being in-person, we will adjust our schedule according to the time period mandated.

TEENS KIDS CABARET | AGES 12-18 | $270 (with current annual registration)
Students will have a blast in this week-long summer camp as they sing and dance to styles ranging from classic musical theatre to funky hip-hop. They'll build confidence playing improv games, working on group acting scenes and so much more! There will be a free performance on the main stage for family and friends on the final day of camp.

In these week-long summer camps. your little performer will meet others with similar interests and build social skills through singing, dancing and acting out their favorite stories. They'll gain insight on character development and movement skills. There will be a free performance on the main stage for family and friends on the final day of the camp session. NOTE: Students may register for only one of the following sessions.
THREE-WEEK PRODUCTION SUMMER CAMPS
These three-week production summer camps focuses on the main elements of putting a production quickly. During our time together students will be put through placement auditions, casting, rehearsing, character development, and more. In between rehearsals, campers will participate in team games and exercises that will help fine-tune their theatre skills including improvisation, music, and dance. This all leads up to two performances on our main stage.
Placement Auditions: Everyone who registers in this camp is guaranteed a role in the show. A placement audition will be held to figure out the best fit for everyone in the show based upon the Artistic Team's decisions. Placement decisions will be based upon vocal, acting, and dance skills displayed during the process.
Lunch & Snacks: Students must bring a healthy lunch each day and two snacks each day. Bring a water bottle with your child's name on it.
Appearance: Students are required to wear black pants or shorts, a black top (t-shirt, leotard, or tank top), and black dance shoes or sneakers secured with laces or velcro. No open-toe shoes, flip-flops, sandals, or crocs. Clothing must be appropriate for dancing/movement. Hair must be pulled back and away from the face.

PRODUCTION: Disney's Camp Rock The Musical One Act Edition
A classic story of rivalry and power, Disney's Camp Rock The Musical opens with Mitchie and her friends arriving at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock's very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown!
Disney's Camp Rock The Musical, a combination of The Disney Channel's "Camp Rock" and "Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam" (starring teen idols, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers) will fire up your summer with over a dozen songs, including "This Is Me," "Can't Back Down," "It's On" and "We Rock." This production features a large ensemble cast with many featured roles. Whether your students are singers, actors, dancers or triple threats, everyone has an opportunity to shine in this high-energy show!

PRODUCTION: Into the Woods JR
Be careful what you wish for, as Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s cockeyed fairytale comes to life in this adaptation of their groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning musical. Into the Woods JR. features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.
The musical centers on a baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse, and wind up changed forever.

The Fine Print
Registration is required for all workshops. An Annual Registration Fee must be paid annually for students to participate in theatre arts education sessions. The Annual Registration Fee is $20 for one or more students per family and is valid from July 1 until June 30 annually.
Students are required wear comfortable clothes and sneakers or closed toe shoes (no Crocs, sandals, flip-flops or skirts without pants/leggings worn under the skirt.) Students are not allowed to bring cell phones, toys, games or other electronic devices. A telephone is available for emergency use.

Minimum of 3 weeks prior to camp: Full refund minus annual registration fee.
2 weeks prior to camp: Refund minus $95 ($75 administrative fee + $20 annual registration fee.)
First day of camp or later: No refund.
Check In/Out Policy: Please know that the purpose of all this is for your student’s safety and well-being. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping our program run smoothly!
Students, including teens, must be checked in and out by a responsible adult. Please sign your student into their class and say hi to the teacher or supervising adult. This will help us to know who you are!
If you will be more than 5 minutes late picking up your student, please call the Instructor or our office at 410-757-2281 to let us know.
Please notify the teacher if another adult has your permission to pick up your student that day. Parents must understand that once their student is signed out, they are no longer the responsibility of Children’s Theatre of Annapolis.
