VIRTUAL THEATRE PRODUCTION WORKSHOP: The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life on Earth

Daytime talk TV reaches new atmospheric heights in this intergalactic virtual comedy with a wild, wacky cast of space aliens, Earth monsters, and surprise guests!

Alien host of “Earth Talk Tonight,” Valendia Vortex, and her rambunctious invertebrate sidekick, Troq, are on the search for superior beings on the planet Earth. So they call upon the monsters of the world to prove their universal mettle! But vampire “Vladdy” is plain old batty. Frankenstein is frenzied. Wolfie is just a hyper pup. And Invisible Woman’s extraordinary gift is really no gift at all! Making matters more embarrassing for these mediocre monsters are their respective special guests, each more vexing than the monsters themselves. It turns out that some special powers aren’t as special as they seem and that intelligent life is in the eye of the beholder.

In this online class students will learn actor's warm-ups, learn about theatre terminology, work on character development, and more as they prepare for the virtual (pre-recorded) performance. Classes will be held in an online group setting.

VIRTUAL THEATRE PRODUCTION WORKSHOP

The War of the Worlds - A Totally Teen Online Theatrical Event

During the morning video announcements at Grover's Mill High, something crash lands in the football stadium. Something not of this Earth. Inspired by Orson Wells’ 1938 radio broadcast The War of the Worlds, this modern adaptation is designed to be rehearsed and performed live online. Through a series of Zoom calls, our morning-show hosts find themselves covering the biggest story in human history. Martians have landed and are taking over the Earth. Can our group of scrappy high-schoolers survive the invasion? (Comedy / Drama / Satire)
