VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS

These programs give each participant the opportunity to learn the basics of theatre, expand their imagination, develop voice, dance and performance techniques, and much more. All training, workshops and camps are aimed to specific age and skill groups. Classes are held in an online group setting.

AGES 8-14

VOICE (singing) WORKSHOP

Join this innovative and exciting virtual voice class! In each class students will learn warm-up, vocal techniques & vocabulary + work on songs from musical theatre. Classes will be held via Zoom. Once you register you will be sent a link so that you may join by computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone & participate. Lets raise our voice & spirits in the process in this educational and enjoyable class!

AGES: 8-14 (Level: Beginner-Intermediate)

WHEN: 4:00-5:00 p.m.; Tuesdays, April 20-May 25, 2021 (6 weeks)

ACTING WORKSHOP

In this online class students will learn actor's warm-ups, learn about theatre terminology + etiquette, work on character development + scene study, do a monologue coaching session, & more. Classes will be held in a safe, online, group setting. Any required materials such as script excerpts, monologues, etc. will be supplied to the students in Google Classroom.

AGES: 8-14 (Level: Beginner-Intermediate)

WHEN: 4:00-5:00 p.m.; Thursdays, April 22-May 27, 2021 (6 weeks)

TRIPLE THREATS WORKSHOP

Celebrate the great Broadway musicals with CTA! Students will learn vocal, choreography, & scene acting excerpts from an array of musical theatre shows that have graced the great stages of Broadway. No experience necessary. We're here to have fun, explore our talents, & have a blast celebrating the shows we love! Classes will be held in a safe, online, group setting. Any required materials such as script excerpts, lyrics, etc. will be supplied to the students in Google Classroom.

WHEN: 6:30-7:30 p.m.; Thursdays, April 22-May 27, 2021 (6 weeks)

MUSICAL THEATRE HIP-HOP DANCE WORKSHOP

In each class students will learn warm-up/cool-down stretches, dance technique, vocabulary, + a fun dance combination. Classes will be held via Zoom. Put your best foot forward and have fun in the process in this educational and enjoyable class!

The Fine Print

 

Registration is required for all workshops. A one time Registration Fee must be paid annually for students to participate in theatre arts education sessions. The Annual Registration Fee is $20 for one or more students per family and is valid from July 1 until June 30 annually.

Students are required wear comfortable clothes and sneakers or closed toe shoes (no Crocs, sandals, flip-flops or skirts for the ladies.) Students are not allowed to bring cell phones, toys, games or other electronic devices. A telephone is available for emergency use.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Minimum of 3 weeks prior to workshop: Full refund minus annual registration fee.

  • 2 weeks prior to workshop: Refund minus $75 administrative fee and annual registration fee.

  • First day of workshop or later: No refund.

 

Inclement Weather Policy: Workshops follow the Anne Arundel County School closings. If schools are closed or afternoon and evening activities are cancelled, the workshop is cancelled for the day. You can email ctainformation@gmail.com if you have questions or concerns.

 

Check In/Out Policy: Please know that the purpose of all this is for your student’s safety and well-being. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping our program run smoothly!

  1. Students, including teens, must be checked in and out by a responsible adult. Please sign your student into their class and say hi to the teacher or supervising adult. This will help us to know who you are!

  2. If you will be more than 5 minutes late picking up your student, please call the Instructor or our office at 410-757-2281 to let us know.

  3. Please notify the teacher if another adult has your permission to pick up your student that day. Parents must understand that once their student is signed out, they are no longer the responsibility of Children’s Theatre of Annapolis.
