As one of the most iconic and emotionally resonant musicals ever written, West Side Story challenges us to reflect on the world we live in and the communities we build. Our cast and crew – these talented young artists – have poured their hearts into this production, and we couldn’t be prouder to share their work with you.
Here at Children’s Theatre of Annapolis, our mission goes beyond the stage. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and creative space where young people can grow – not just as performers, but as confident individuals ready to express themselves and connect with others through the transformative power of the arts.
We are also looking to the future. Our Growing Our Reach campaign is well underway, focused on the expansion and build-out of our Annex – a project that will truly transform what we can offer to our community. This new space will feature a state-of-the-art Black Box theatre, as well as dedicated educational classrooms and dance studios, allowing us to host more programs, reach more young artists, and deepen our impact in Anne Arundel County and beyond.
In times like these – when the arts are increasingly undervalued or underfunded – it is vital to champion spaces where creativity, empathy, and collaboration are nurtured. CTA is one of those places, and your support ensures that we remain a beacon for youth and families across Annapolis and the surrounding area.

Children’s Theatre of Annapolis
The end of the 2024/2025 season is upon us, here at the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis! As we close out our Season of Discovering Wonder, we are so excited to open the third and final installment, Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. The show opens on Friday, May 16th, running through June 1st. CTA is finishing a fantastic year, but the Arts face many challenges. This is a hard time to be in the performing arts non-profit arena.
In difficult times, the arts have always been a source of light—and right now, that light needs your help to keep shining.
At CTA we create more than just performances. We create safe spaces for children to express themselves, build confidence, and find their voice. But like so many arts organizations, we’re facing unprecedented challenges: funding cuts, rising costs, and fewer opportunities for creative programming in schools.
As support for the arts declines nationwide, small community theatres like ours are being hit the hardest.
In a world that’s growing louder and more chaotic, children need a stage to dream, to speak, and to be heard. With your support, we can keep the curtain rising.
CTA relies on your support to keep the joy and talent you see on stage going. Please see various ways you can support.
- Volunteer! We love and rely on our volunteers to put on our fantastic shows, but also to support the work we do, like education and community outreach
- Construction slated to start on our annex had to be delayed. While it is delayed, you can still support this future project! This will allow CTA to expand its reach and become a leading arts center. Please help support via our capital campaign.

We love our surrounding and local community! We have over 6,000 people come through our doors annually. With the annex buildout, this number will only increase! Another season is starting here at CTA!
We are diving into the deep end of our 65th year, with
a Season of Magical Mayhem!

Our first Halloween Extravaganza is slated to welcome in the fall/Halloween season!
Sponsored and led by the 2024 CTA senior class, this event is one not to miss!
We will have a haunted, house, face painting, live music, and more!

Opening on October 20th, we are so excited to present our season opener, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, opening on October 20th!! The talent on this stage is amazing. As you are transported Under the Sea, I know that it will take your breath away. This cast and production crew have worked so hard. Watching the rehearsal process has truly been a joy. As the cast put the show on its feet, the pride, the love, and the preparation shone.
On December 2nd, come join us for our first ever Holiday Cabaret! In honor of Darrell Conley, a beloved member of the CTA family, this promises to be a wonderful, joyful event. Come join us for entertainment, games, food, and a special visitor, Santa! Look out for more details!
Sixty-Five Years means it’s our Blue Sapphire anniversary. Celebrate with us on March 2nd, 2024, at the fantastic hotel, the Graduate. This is going to be an amazing event with food, drink, and entertainment! Keep your eyes and ears open for your invitation and information about this exciting event!

Spring has Sprung at CTA!
Spring is a time of renewal, growth, and beauty. As we end our 2022/2023 season, I cannot help but feel
energized and excited for things to come!
Once Upon a Mattress opens May 5 th ! I cannot say enough about the cast, artistic staff, and production
crew. It will truly be a royal affair not to miss!
