Ready to transition from the rehearsal room to the spotlight? This Production Intensive Workshop bridges the gap between performance classes and the rigorous expectations of main stage productions, built specifically for intermediate to advanced level students ready for a fast-paced challenge. You will dive straight into an accelerated creative process—moving rapidly from placement auditions and casting to vocal technique, precise choreography, and character development. This immersive program teaches you how to synthesize a full-scale show quickly, culminating in two live, public performances on our main stage. Push your boundaries and deliver a high-level performance!

SYNOPSIS: A classic story of rivalry and power, Disney’s Camp Rock The Musical opens with Mitchie and her friends arriving at Camp Rock, ready to spend another summer jamming out and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock’s very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown!

Disney’s Camp Rock The Musical, a combination of The Disney Channel’s “Camp Rock” and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” (starring teen idols, Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers) will fire up our stage with over a dozen songs, including “This Is Me,” “Can’t Back Down,” “It’s On” and “We Rock.”

Casting Guarantee & Ensemble Philosophy

Every student registered in this intensive workshop is guaranteed a role in the final production. We operate under an ensemble philosophy: every character drives the narrative, and every performer is vital to the story we are telling together. There are no small parts—each student is a critical piece of our creative journey.

Placement Auditions

Day 1 will feature a mandatory Placement Audition designed to help the Artistic Team determine the optimal casting layout for the production. Rather than a traditional “cut” audition, this process allows them to assess individual strengths and find the perfect creative fit for every performer. Come ready to champion your peers while fiercely showcasing your own unique artistry.

Evaluation Criteria

The Artistic Team will evaluate students based on industry-standard disciplines. Final casting decisions will be determined by the technical proficiency, adaptability, and performance quality demonstrated in:

• Vocal Technique: Pitch, tone, breath control, and narrative storytelling through song.
• Acting & Interpretation: Immediate character commitment, text interpretation, emotional range, and responsiveness to directional notes.
• Dance & Movement: Choreographic retention, spatial awareness, and physical expression.

Snacks: Students must bring a healthy snack + a water bottle with their name on it each day. NO glass bottles.

Appearance: Students are required to wear black pants or shorts, a black top (t-shirt, leotard, or tank top), and black dance shoes or sneakers secured with laces or velcro. No open-toe shoes, flip-flops, sandals, or crocs. Clothing must be appropriate for dancing/movement. Hair must be pulled back and away from the face.

Why Actors Train in All Black with No Jewelry

Theatre students wear all black and no jewelry to create a completely neutral, distraction-free environment that shifts the entire focus onto performance rather than personal style.

The “Blank Canvas” Effect: Bright colors, logos, and flashy jewelry draw the eye away from the performance. Solid black clothing and bare skin remove personal fashion choices, allowing teachers and peers to focus entirely on facial expressions, body language, and emotional work.

Safety First: Musical theatre is highly physical, involving movement, partner work, and floor exercises. Removing rings, necklaces, watches, and earrings prevents painful snags, scratches, or injuries to yourself and your scene partners.

Uniformity and Ensemble Focus: A shared dress code eliminates wardrobe competition, status symbols, and flashing accessories in the studio. When individual fashion fades into the background, it builds an immediate sense of equality, community, and collaborative ensemble work.

• Professional Instruction: Guidance and training from a highly qualified team of experienced directors, artistic leaders, and educators.
• Production Materials: Complete access to show scripts, rehearsal tracks, digital recordings, and practice materials.
• Stage & Technical Elements: Professional stage lighting, sound systems, body microphones, custom sets, and props.
• Costumes: CTA will provide specialty costume pieces. Students will be asked to bring basic foundational items from home.
• Rehearsals & Shows: Full access to dress/techinical rehearsals and two final live, public stage performances.

ANNUAL REGISTRATION POLICY: All participants must pay an annual registration fee ($20 for one or more students within the same family) to participate in a workshop/camp. Valid from July 1st through June 30th annually.
