Disney’s Descendants: The Musical

Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical comedy featuring the beloved characters and hit songs from the films! It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains.

Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos—the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil and Jafar—are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: Should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly lovable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other’s lives, as Miss Honey begins not only to recognize but also appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however—the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!

Virtual Audition Instructions

  • Sign up online for auditions and submit the audition form electronically with the link above.
  • Virtual auditions must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022. Auditions for this show require singing, acting, and dancing.
  • Virtual auditioners should prepare and record a video of a musical selection of a song in the style of the show. Please prepare approximately 16-30 bars of music. No recorded music with vocals or a cappella singing is allowed. Please choose a song from the musical theatre genre (no pop/rock/etc.). In the video, please introduce yourself with your name, age, and the title of your musical selection.

Footloose: Youth Edition

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

When the ship is taken over by pirates – led by the fearsome Black Stache, a villain determined to claim the trunk and its treasure for his own – the journey quickly becomes a thrilling adventure.

Trapped in the backyard, the kids realize they must create a brand new society. However when they elect Skyler’s older brother, Charlie, as their ruler, things really begin to spin out of control. The Fairy Tale Network is a television network that needs to improve its viewership ratings with exciting new programming.  The three mice working as creative consultants for the studio each must come up with a story idea to pitch to their new chief, the Cat.  And they need to pitch their ideas fast before they become a fancy feast!  They retell the well-known tales of Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Pigs, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but now with new, unexpected twists! By John Woodard

Fall Break Workshops

No school? No worries! We’ve got you covered. In these fun & imaginative workshops students will be singing, dancing, acting, playing theatre games, doing crafts, and more.

  • Monday, November 21: Join us with your BFF or make a new one! (taught in the style of Spongebob the Musical)
  • Tuesday, November 22: Just keep swimming with us in this workshop taught in the style of Finding Nemo the Musical
  • Wednesday, November 23: Spend the day under the sea with CTA! (taught in the style of The Little Mermaid the Musical)

Lunch & Snacks: Students must bring a healthy lunch, two healthy snacks, and a water bottle with your child’s name on it.

Appearance: Students must dress appropriately for movement. Shoes should be either dance shoes or sneakers secured with laces or velcro. No open-toe shoes, flip-flops, sandals, or crocs. Hair must be pulled back and away from the face.
