SUMMER CAMPS

Summer camp programs at CTA give each participant the opportunity to learn the basics of theatre, expand their imagination, develop voice, dance and performance techniques, and much more. All training, workshops and camps are aimed to specific age and skill groups. 

 

Note: CTA is committed to making theatre education available to all, regardless of income status. If tuition poses a financial hardship, scholarships and payment plans are available. 2020 Summer Camps with

Tiffany Shannon Productions, LLC

Tiffany Shannon has been studying dance & theatre for over 30 years. She has trained at Towson University, The Studio Theatre in DC, AACC, Palomar College and CA University in San Marcos. Click here to read more about Miss Tiffany.

BROADWAY TEENS | AGES 11-18 | $270 (with current annual registration)

This week-long summer camp focuses on the three main components of musical theatre. Singing, dancing and acting! Your student will have a blast as they sing and dance to styles ranging from classic musical theatre to funky hip-hop. Students will build confidence playing improv games, working on group acting scenes, and so much more! There will be an exciting performance on our main stage for friends and family during the last hour on the final day of camp. Don't forget to send in a pre-washed t-shirt for your student to tie-dye and wear for the performance!

WHEN: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; June 22-June 26

BROADWAY SHOW STOPPERS | AGES 5-7 | $200 (with current annual registration)

Do you have a little performer at home? We have the workshop for you! Students will meet others with similar interests and build social skills through singing, dancing and acting out our favorite stories. Students will gain insight on becoming a character and movement skills. There will be an exciting performance on our main stage for friends and family during the last half hour on the final day of camp!

THREE-WEEK PRODUCTION SUMMER CAMPS

These three-week production summer camps focuses on the main elements of putting a production quickly. During our time together students will be put through placement auditions, casting, rehearsing, character development, and more. In between rehearsals, campers will participate in team games and exercises that will help fine-tune their theatre skills including improvisation, music, and dance. This all leads up to two performances on our main stage.

 

CAMP INFO
Placement Auditions: Everyone who registers in this camp is garunteed a role in the show. A placement audition will be held to figure out the best fit for everyone in the show based upon the Artistic Team's decisions. Placement decisions will be based upon vocal, acting, and dance skills displayed during the process.

 

Lunch & Snacks: Students must bring a healthy lunch each day and two snacks each day. Bring a water bottle with your child's name on it.

 

Appearance: Students are required to wear black pants or shorts, a black top (t-shirt, leotard, or tank top), and black dance shoes or sneakers secured with laces or velcro. No open-toe shoes, flip-flops, sandals, or crocs. Clothing must be appropriate for dancing/movement. Hair must be pulled back and away from the face.

 

Your tuition includes:

  • One complimentary CTA production summer camp t-shirt*

  • Direction / instruction from a highly qualified artistic team

  • Production elements (script, access to digital recording or rehearsal tracks, props, specialty costumes...some basic costume pieces may be requested from home if necessary)

  • Pre-Show Pizza Dinner Party on the last Friday of each camp session. We'll provide pizza & bottled water for a team building dinner between the end of camp and the performance that evening.

  • Two complimentary performance tickets. Additional tickets available to purchase at $5.00/person.

*NOTE: Students must be registered before June 1st to receive a complimentary t-shirt. All others may be purchased for an additional fee of $10.00.

PRODUCTION: Disney's Camp Rock One Act Edition

AGES: 8-14

LEVEL: Intermediate-Advanced

WHEN: July 20-August 7, 2020; 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday) + 2 performances**
